Primary Objectives:
- Consolidate the Science: Bring together disparate fields—health, agriculture, economics, climate science, and national security —into a single, undeniable picture of national risk.
- Engage the Unconverted: Move beyond the “environmental bubble” to reach the general public, federal, provincial, and territorial elected representatives, policy makers, business and finance leaders, key civic leaders, high-ranking military, intelligence, and disaster management officials, senior editors and political journalists from national news outlets who can help amplify the message.
- Acknowledge & Operationalize Solutions: Champion specific, high-leverage interventions that will move us onto the path of mobilizing Canada and its provinces and territories to undertake the necessary and urgent projects and initiatives that will mitigate the impact of the Climate Crisis, and create a more resilient and less carbon-intensive economy and infrastructure.
Premises
- ClimateFast and partnering organizations will plan, organize, and manage the logistics to make the CNEB happen. Top-tier subject matter experts will inform the audience and recommend solutions.
- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be sourced as speakers for each topic. These experts must be well-respected with integrity beyond reproach. The speakers must be acknowledged non-political experts and should not be from a for profit company or organization.
- Each SME will be given 10 minutes to explain the impact of the Nature and Climate Crisis on the world and Canada, from their perspective. In their 10 minutes, they will provide their recommendations as to what needs to be done to address the Nature and Climate Crisis.
